Hi loves, I’m finally married (Marymar) well for three months now, sorry for such a late post of the wedding day. Life has been crazy but in such a good way, always believe in the timing of the universe. June 23rd, I married my best friend Curran Fudge, which officially makes me Mrs. Fudge (best last name ever). Curran and I were originally going to celebrate our wedding in Oklahoma City where we currently live but our guest list was outrageous it added up to almost 800 people so I said no way so we decided to plan for a destination wedding in San Diego. San Diego is where most of my family lives but it also holds such a big part of my heart since I was born and raised in sunny SD. After a long brainstorming session we decided on a more intimate wedding in San Diego. Which has been by far the best weekend of my life, we ended up having a whole weekend of activities with our favorite people, it was absolutely magical.
Our wedding weekend started on a Thursday in a restaurant in La Jolla where family friends threw us a wedding shower. We all ended the night hanging out in the cutest bar (Born and Raised) in Little Italy and in Downtown San Diego. We continued celebrating on Friday with a fun game of paintball during the day, continued with rehearsal and rehearsal dinner at our favorite beach called Tecolote, where my sister and I grew up going as little girls. Friday evening my sister (best maid of honor ever), mom and I checked in into our room at The Lodge at Torrey Pines, where the wedding took place. We were fortunate to have stayed in one of their luxury suites overlooking the world famous Torrey Pines Golf course and California coastline, not a bad place to get ready as a bride highly recommend. Finally Saturday, the big day consisted, on waking up at 8 am to start hair and makeup with lots of mimosas to calm the nerves! We invited 125 of our most closest family and friends, it was perfect. Here are some pictures of my big day and I added some behind the scenes pictures of the whole wedding weekend before we said our I dos!
A few tips on destination wedding!
- hire a wedding planner at least for the month before the wedding but highly recommend for the whole wedding planning, you will need as much help as you can get when it comes to a destination wedding!
- make a itinerary for all wedding activities, guests will always ask for directions, times, location, etc. Send a picture of your itinerary to your guests and you will be a much more relaxed bride or groom
- don’t bring your phone to your wedding, you will enjoy your wedding much more without everyone calling you or texting and you most definitely don’t want to be on social media (stay in the present moment!!!).
- overall don’t freak out if something does not go your way, if it’s out your control don’t even try, just continue having fun. Enjoy your special day, it’s goes by in a blink.
The following Wednesday after our wedding, we flew to our honeymoon. It started with a business trip to London but after that we flew to Alicante in Spain for a day. Then we ended up island hopping to Ibiza, Mallorca and back to Granada in Spain. Ever picture Spain, then you are probably picturing Granada. So adorable but I don’t want to tell you all about it yet I will write a blog post soon. 😏 After Spain, we took a boat from Gribaltar to Morocco. First time in Africa! We ended our trip with a business trip to India. Two months of unforgettable work honeymooning.
