Spring season is here! The weather in Oklahoma City is so drastic, a couple of weeks ago it was snowing in the morning and by the afternoon it was bright and sunny. This San Diegan does not know what to think about this weather, but even with such drastic weather I really do enjoy how different it is each day. I wanted to do a get ready with me type of post, Sherry and I get asked a lot where we buy our items or what is it exactly that we are using for our makeup and we love sharing with you all! For this particular day, my fiancé Curran, our friends and I went to the Wes Walker Cleats and Cocktails Fundraiser at the Oklahoma City Country Club. All the funds raised during this event goes directly to benefit Cleats for Kids, a nonprofit organization that helps give sports shoes and gear of all types and sizes, to young underserved Oklahoma athletes free of charge. Its an amazing non-profit that partners up with the Wes Walker Foundation. Not only was it for a great cause, but the event was full with an evening of lively music, entertainment, auctions, hors d’oeuvre and memorable times with my friends.
I wore this beautiful yellow dress from NSR (link posted below) which is a line sold in Nordstrom & Nordstrom Rack, it is the perfect length it doesn’t go down to the floor, but it hits about 6 inches below my knees. Its classy looking dress and it is so comfortable. I bought the shoes at Steve Madden. These are great summer wedges, they have the perfect height even for us short girls. The brown leather look is so versatile I can wear them with jeans to dresses. I always recommend investing a bit more money on a good pair of shoes that will last you longer and that will not make your feet hurt, mostly if it will be a long day in those shoes. The earrings are my favorite part of this outfit just because of where I got them! I got these earrings when I backpacked India with my fiancé. Its a long story that I will share in another post, but I bought these earrings for less than $1 in Rajasthan which is a state in India!! It is the most magical place on earth. I was able to buy all sorts of earring, leather bags, colorful leather wallets, and did I say earrings! But really, I bought bags on bags of cute earrings, these among them. As you can see these earrings are so easy to put on and, have a gorgeous intricate design.
For makeup I decided to go for a nude look, since I wanted my dress to stand out the most. Shimmery eyeshadow and nude lips are my favorite spring makeup look.
I always start with moisturizing my face and lips before I start putting on makeup. I, then continue with my eyebrows. I first start with my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow and then I have a small brush that I use to go over with my concealer to finish shaping them well. Then I continued with my eyeshadow. Once I blend my eyeshadows I continue with eyeliner, then mascara and fake eyelashes. After I’m finished with my eyes I continue with contouring which is my favorite part because I love how bright my eyes look and how define my check bones get. My favorite concealer is the Tarte Double Duty I will add a link below, I have never been more happy about a concealer as I am with this one! What a great coverage it has, and you really get what you pay for because that bottle will last you for months! I then continue with a finish powder. I use the Elf brand that you will find in any drugstore. This finishing powder will set your concealer and will make your makeup look super smooth. In this particular look, on my lips, I used the Kat Von D Bow N Arrow, which goes great with a nude makeup look and has a matte finish.
